Latin’s Not So Tough!

Latin’s Not So Tough

From the same author that brought us Hey Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! comes Latin’s Not So Tough!, specifically written for grammar stage students, or any beginning Latin student. The program is under construction with the first three workbooks finished.

Latin’s Not So Tough is a series of self-study consummable workbooks that teaches classical Latin through a combination of deduction and induction - grammar instruction and natural immersion. It is really the Saxon Math of Latin curricula. Each concept in each workbook is introduced incrementally and sequentially. Each workbook is designed for independent study, and all directions and explanations are complete in the text. Review of previously learned vocabulary and grammar is built into the program, and each new concept is solidly mastered by providing plenty of practice, drill, and games. Learning Latin becomes very easy and painless because of this approach.

Currently three workbooks are completed, with more planned. Level One teaches the alphabet and pronunciation, and provides practice in both writing and reading the Greek letters. Level Two introduces vocabulary, and Level Three begins grammar study and simple translation. Although children in grades 1 through 3 can work through Levels One through Three respectively, any beginning Latin student - even teens and adults - can learn Latin beginning with Level One and working through the series at his own pace. Answer keys, quizzes and exams, flashcards, and pronunciation tapes are available for all levels, although are not necessary to learn Latin. The extras are more for the teacher’s convenience.

Have I answered your curriculum questions about Latin’s Not So Tough!? If not, please ask me your question. I am sorry that I cannot tell you which curriculum to buy, but I try to describe the curriculum as completely as possible so that you can make up your mind as to which are best suited for your children.
