Origins Science Debate

Using the Online Catalog

Overview of the Origins Debate

Introductory materials to the topic of origins science, or those which touch on multiple branches of science to give a more complete picture of the overall debate, can be found here.

Evidence of Creation in Anthropology

Anthropology is the study of man, of humankind’s existence on earth. These resources deal with the homonid fossils, Neanderthal Man, and what the ancient societies and artifacts of man say about his origins.

Evidence of Creation in Astronomy

Astronomy is the study of the stars. These resources look at origins of the universe (cosmology) and other issues dealing with the stars and planets.

Evidence of Creation in Biology

Biology is the study of living systems, whether of plants or animals. These resources look at all the aspects of the orgins debate as it touches on biology: design features in animals, in human anatomy; origin of life; biochemical mechanisms; the DNA molecule and the origin of information; population genetics and random mutations; and the Biotic Message vs. evolutionary theory.

Evidence of Creation in Geology

Geology is the study of rocks and minerals, of the earth and earth formations. These resources look at the age of the earth, the methods of dating rocks, land formations such as the Grand Canyon and Mt. St. Helens, and the implications of Noah’s world-wide flood on geology.

Evidence of Creation in Paleontology

Paleontology is the study of the fossil record. These resources look at what darwinists claim is one of the key evidences for evolutionary theory, the fossil record. Do the fossils that we do find support darwinism or creationism?

Evidence of Creation in Physics & Mathematics

Physics is the study of the interaction of matter and energy, and mathematics is the study of numbers and their operations, relations, etc. What do these branches of science have to say about the origins debate? The answer is surprising.

Social Implications of Creation & Evolution

The theory of evolution is an interpretation of neutral scientific facts within the framework of a belief system based on the anti-biblical worldview. Does the widespread acceptance of such a theory, based on such a belief system, have implications for society, and what are they? The theory of scientic creationism is an interpretation of neutral scientific facts within the framework of a belief system based on the biblical worldview. What social implications does widespread acceptance of such a theory, based on such a belief system, have? These resources explore the questions in different ways.

Theological Implications of Creation & Evolution

For years, for decades, most Christian leaders and theologians have taught that a belief in evolution does not affect Christian doctrine or theology in any way. Is this true? What are the implications for Christian doctrine and theology, New Testament doctrine and theology, if the first 11 chapters of Genesis are thrown out as history as evolutionary theory requires? And what are the implications for Christian doctrine and theology if Genesis is not thrown out, but just revised to allow for evolutionary claims concerning the age of the earth and the universe, according to the semi-creationist theories of theistic evolution, or of progressive creationism proposed by Hugh Ross, or of the gap (pre-Adamite) theory? There are implications, and these resources explore those implications.
